About Us

Hello, I’m Dan MacIntyre-Jones. I’ve been working on boats of all sorts for the last twenty years.

It all started when I was five when I spent a week aboard a narrowboat  on the Oxford Canal (this would be about 1978 – it was very basic!) From that moment I was hooked on boats and boating life.

Since then I’ve travelled most of the waterways in the UK. I bought my first narrowboat in 2001, since then I have run a boat moorings; a busy hire fleet and a boat training centre on the River Nene in Northamptonshire.

After two decades of boat hire and hundreds of happy holidays for our brilliant customers, my family and I were looking for a change.  In 2023 the training centre will relocate to South Wales on the beautiful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal which is small, but perfectly formed with all the features needed for a great training location. 

Training and Support for Owners of Boats of all Sizes

In 2022 I qualified as a Boat Safety Scheme examiner and in 2023 I will qualify as a  Yacht and Small Craft Surveyor.
